Artist Influence- Carolyn Blish

Artist Influence- Carolyn Blish

This is another artist that I really like.  She really knows how to capture the life of children.  I think she has really great technique in her brush work.  While Carolyn's pictures are not always extremely detailed and realistic-looking, I really enjoy her overall theme.

I really love the way in which this artist takes pencil drawings to the next level.  I believe that pencil drawings are my strong point, however, I think it is that it is easy for pencil drawings to become boring.  I enjoy how J.D.'s drawings look so realistic.  I know that I have a long way to go to achieve this type of work but I really want my drawings to reflect this kind of realism.

Artist Influence- Nancy Seamons Crookston

Artist Influence- Nancy Seamons Crookston

I have always loved this painting.  My parents bought it and put it in our living room a few years ago because it reminds them of my sister and I.  When I was trying to think of some artist influences I immdiately thought of this painting, so I researched the artist.  I really love the way Nancy captures the child-like innocence that I want to convey in my pieces.
